Reports To: CTO

Location: Remote (US Preferred)

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years experience wiring test code for a large system, 10 years preferred.
  • Must have experience managing servers and databases. We use DigitalOcean, so experience with their services is preferred.
  • Must be a Rspec/Capybara rock star. Our original test suite was garbage and we need to start over and get robust testing in place ASAP.
  • Must have a good attention to detail to make sure no release goes live that hasn’t passed both Rspec and visual inspection (i.e. any change or new feature still needs to be manually verified by someone who didn’t write the actual code).
  • Must know how to set up a customer ticket system, integrate it into Github, and manage customer relations with regards to tickets.
  • Must know how to set up server monitoring and performance monitoring, as well as be willing to be the person “with the pager” for when a server goes down.
  • Must have some knowledge of how to get security audits done.
  • Must know enough Rails coding to be able to work almost in parallel with development as they move ahead; would prefer the test code tracks development instead of having new code “thrown over the wall” to test.
  • Must be self-motivated, you will be expected to take general directions and figure out how to make it happen

Once the test suite is rebuilt, there will be time to handle the multiple responsibilities as none are a “full time” job at this point in the company’s growth. This position will likely grow into a management role for a department tasked with these responsibilities.
